Music Business Development
Agency and Rights
Punk rock got me here. The music and the "can do" attitude.
The creativity/heart of funk, disco and soul music schooled me to the necessity of change. Change and the need for constant adaptation in both in music and business to me is everything.
I cannot stand being told I can't do something. I am rubbish at grammar and my spelling leaves a lot to be desired but I know a star when I hear one or see one. I laugh a lot have a great lovely family and enjoy cooking and football. Many of my acts eat at my flat. I have been in the music business for 30 years.
Sold a lot of records/downloads and have been lucky enough to have helped build some big careers. I have a thirst for the new when it comes to music and work bloody hard. I don’t have time for those who are not interested in hard work . I seem to discover new artists in weird and wonderful ways. Ferocious Talent is a phrase that I ended up using a lot when trying to describe my artists. I would be asked – what is so and so like. I would reply “the talent is Ferocious”.
Jonny Taylor worked at ATC Management for 3 years before joining Ferocious Talent.
Currently, he is the General Manager of Ferocious Label Services. He heads up the day-to-day running of the digital distribution platform, gives advice on scheduling, marketing services & rights collection and provides real time streaming data for our clients. He also assists Kwame with all of the Ferocious Talent acts, playing a pivotal role in making sure everything runs smoothly.
Coming from the Session Musician world, Eddie has pretty much worked up an impressive CV for himself.
His love for music has enabled him to play drums and work with a plethora of artists in today's music industry. Artists include the likes of Ne-Yo, Bebe Rexha, Martin Garrix, Snoh Aalegra, Kiezsa, Etta Bond, Devlin, Tiana Major9, Moelogo & many more.
Eddie has always had a keen interest in working within music management and it became more evident when he attended Kwame’s Ultimate Seminar which enlightened him and also led him to the position he is in now; An Artist Liaison & Tour Manager assisting Kwame and Jonny at Ferocious Talent, looking after acts such as Blue Lab Beats, Cassie Rytz, Ruby Francis & Caitlyn Scarlett to name a few.
He also like to secretly sing & cook in his own time. Haha sorry, Edd!
"I look for energy in an act, music the moves you in any way. I like music that makes you feel, makes you productive, angry, sad or whatever - the best music has a vibe, and thats what I care for.
I’m proud represent such powerful artists who are writing some of the best music I’ve ever heard. It’s great fun to work in music but it took a lot to get here. A hard work ethic and the ability to only accept the best are the tools you need in this business."
Ben met Kwame at ATC management in 2013, since then they have taken on multiple acts together.
DJ, A&R and Artist Manager Kofi Kyei, better known as DJ Funkz is an influencer in the UK urban Music industry. He is a great new addition to the Ferocious stable of new managers.
Through being an active promoter and DJing, Kofi has been able to support various international artists at the infancy of their live career. Artists include Wizkid, P Montana, The Compozers, J Hus, Mista Silva, Davido, Not3s and lotto Boyzz to mention a few.
Kofi now runs his own music hub Rah Boy Music and is the Creative Consultant at Moves.Life (Marathon Artist) home to U.K. Afrobeats artists, Belly Squad, Afro B and Vianni. We welcome him to Ferocious Talent!!
I was brought up on Milt Jackson, Charlie Parker, The Chieftans, Yes, Elton John and Super Tramp when I was a kid. A good mix I think!
Skip a few years and I found hip -hop via MC Shan and Roxanne Shante in the mid-80s. In 1990, I started DJ-ing and after many months of 5 hour practice sessions and nagging promoters with my tapes, I became a resident DJ at Fresh n Funky, Kat Klub etc for 10 years. My favourite, most recent gig was at Mobile Mondays in NYC last year along side DJ Misbehaviour, Natasha Diggs and Just Blaze. Strictly vinyl of course!
I run my jewellery business - www.luckylittleblighters.com, designing and making everything myself. I like PG tips, red wine and to have a good dance!
My Ferocious duties include day-to-day everything for Blue Lab Beats. I don’t want to do accounts but usually do... Assisting in artists' videos and shoots is one of my favourite Ferocious things - organising extras, stylists, makeup artists etc. I do a bit of everything really, filling out PRS forms, dyeing artist's hair, booking flights, mending flight cases, congratulating artists for their amazing work, telling them off when they are ridiculous, applying for funding, helping out with Kwame’s insane diary, searching out and welcoming fabulous interns to the family and anything and everything that crops up and I love it!
Syasya (pronounced sha-sha) is first and foremost a lyricist.
She first got involved with music through her love of poetry and rhythm and has no intention of putting down the pen anytime soon. Her lyrical works can be found here.
She is currently a 2nd year BA Commercial Music student in University of Westminster and spends the rest of her time as an intern with Ferocious.
Her tasks involve marketing and social media management, as well as the day-to-day administration of the company. Ferocious loves Syasya and welcomes her to the famalam.
“I believe that music is the one thing every individual can find refuge in.”
A professional Session Vocalist, Songwriter/Producer, Stylist and a lover of all things art, Daniel “Dali” Davies has had the honour of working with Omar, Maverick Sabre, Ryan De La Cruz, Labrinth and has even graced the stage of X-Factor. He is also a founding member of the house Gospel Choir performing at festivals such as Latitude, Bestival and Glastonbury. Upon meeting Kwame while in university, Daniel has now joined Ferocious as an Intern assisting the team in managing Blue Lab Beats, also helping with administrative support behind-the-scenes.
“Vibrations please me, aesthetic is what eases me.”
With a sharp eye for style/design and a keen ear for sound Daniel plans to help artists accomplish their vision aesthetically and sonically. Daniel hopes to one day set up an opportunity that will aid the youth in Nigeria to learn about the arts and business within it.
